Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, is an ancient Indian system of health and healing over 5000 years old. The Sanskrit word Ayurveda literally means “life science” or “science of life.” Ayurveda states that each individual is born with his or her very unique mind-body constitution made up of three doshas, or subtle energies. By understanding one's own constitution, practitioners can develop seasonal, short term and long term practices to bring health and balance to one’s being and even cure dis-ease using specific foods, herbs, lifestyle, meditation, pranayama, asana, and more.
Join us for two days of diving deep into this very complex yet easily utilized ancient art. Bring pen and paper for lots of note taking!
Renee has been studying Ayurveda since 2011. From the very first introduction, she felt that Ayurveda was the personalized system of health she had been searching for her entire life. She finds that Ayurveda is the perfect complement to her yoga practice for naturally easing anxiety, managing chronic pain and getting through Wisconsin’s seasons with less illness. Renee incorporates Ayurveda into her daily life and enjoys educating others on how to do the same.
